Dresden Today Berlin Tomorrow

Yesterday was a day of trains. We trained it from Salzburg to Munich on a fast train, and then we got an even faster train to Nuremburg, then we got a slow chug-chug type train to Dresden. But we got to see some really pretty scenery and it was a relaxing way to spend the day.

Today we've been tourists in Dresden, it's a very pretty town and I'm glad that when they rebuilt it after WWII they did it in the Baroque style that it was previously. The Fraeunkirche is well worth a look and it's probably one of my favourite churches that we've visited on this trip. I particularly liked the cross that was previously on the top of the building which was covered under rubble for many years after the bombing in Feb 1945, they now have it inside the church and it's very cool. The new cross on top of the church is gold and was a gift from Britain, but I don't think it has as much character as the old beaten up one.

Anyway tomorrow we're off to Berlin - yep another high speed train.
